Songs featured in Episode 142
Millitarie Gun, Dazy – “tall people Don’t Live Long”
“B.A.B.E.” – Scowl
“Cheap Tricks” - DOSSEY
We also review the much anticipated new Blackwater Holylight EP. Unfortunately, BWHL doesn’t lend itself to short clips so we don’t feature a song. Enjoy!
We ALSO also talk about “Pretend We’re Dead” by Tanya Peterson. This is a “must read” book about music in the 90’s and we highly recommended it.
We ALSO ALSO ALSO pitch a movie. What kind of movie? Listen and be entertained!
Episode 141 Notes:
Where on the internet can you find a podcast that compares Sharon Van Etten to “Beyond the Black Rainbow”? One at the most
We talk about Monte, Ty, Sharon Van Etten & the Attachment Theory. Kendrick Lamar, Klaus Nomi, and Julia and the Squeezettes. All this and a special guest drops by to plug current and future projects
Sorry to everyone about the spotty schedule this year. Hoping to get these out quicker and more frequently soon

Episode 139 Notes:
Once again we fufill our legal obligation as a music podcast to put out our top 10 albums of 2024. We review Haley Heynderickx and Punitive Damage, discuss Nosferatu, Charlie XCX, Iron Infusions, and the Holidays.
Cover songs are a weird thing. You need to strike a balance between familiar while giving it enough of a twist to make it unique (have we ever done “best cover”, I wonder). Thao strikes a balance in creating a funky, poppy, sexy spacey version of “Bad Idea, Right” that is well worth your time:
And that Roxy Music Song is here (notice how Bryan Ferry doesn’t blink):
Finally, the final number for the Castle Rat Kickstarter is in and they raised 139K to record their second album. Not too shabby
Song featured in Episode 139”
“Gemini” - Haley Heynderickx (Seed of a Seed)
“News of the Universe – La Luz (News of the Universe)
“Anti-Sapio” – Pissed Jeans (Half Divorced)
“99” – METZ (UP on Gravity Hill)
“Stuck in a Dream” – Gouge Away (Deep Sage) - Currently back in heavy rotation at Lou’s house
And of course, “I Got Heaven” – Mannequin Pussy (I Got Heaven) – Spoiler: our mutual album of the year
We also review (but don’t feature) – Punitive Damage

After a 4-month hiatus we return just in time for Halloween/Anniversary (our 8th?) and Christmas. Most notably in that time, Lou fought (and vanquished) a mouse. Somewhere in there we went and saw Iron maiden and took a minute to discuss the X-Files and a deep cut off the recent Garbage cover album.
A big contributor to all this was some medical issues that I (Lou), had to deal with that we discuss in the next podcast. Thank you all who are (still) listening and we will try to keep a more regular schedule in 2025
We recorded this one in two parts and ultimately lost half the episode due to technical monkeyshines. I have never struggled so hard to get something out only to give up on it. I’m also recovering from an injury that we will elaborate on in our next episode. Anyway, here is the salvaged version. Still some good stuff but pretty oof…..
Songs featured in Episode 137:
“Fire” - Romuvos
”Plucked” - Destroy Boys

Lou and Jaime Z intrude the digital airwaves about indie, punk, hardcore, metal, rock, hell, music in general. A couple of albums are reviewed and a topic is discussed. Babies are born and rainbows appear. And maybe some vodka is drank.
Lou and Jaime Z met through a comic shop in the King of Prussia mall around the summer of 1999. Jaime rang our hero Lou up for some comic books and asked if Patrick was his brother. Lou awkwardly answered "Yes" and ran out of the store in fright. A few weeks prior, he witnessed Jaime's sister yell at a customer for being stupid, and became wary of those comic shop sisters. A year later Lou joined the Comics and More team and became co-workers with Jaime. And that is how the story began...
