EP 4 of The Safe Space Sessions
HEALING TRAUMA BY BUILDING SAFES SPACES
Events cause trauma because our basic survival instincts tell us we are unsafe and if we never have the time & space to process the event, then our bodies will keep us reliving that trauma until it knows it is safe!
So creating a safe space for your mindbody to heal is absolutely critical to stopping these survival cycles, so you can begin living and thriving.
This takes time, it is a process & in this episode I am going to share with you my personal experiences & what I have learnt, in the hope it may help you along your own journey.
So if you are on a healing journey of your own & you are learning what it means to feel safe, this episode was made with you in mind!

**TRIGGER WARNING** Themes of war and death.
In this episode we talk to Cynthia Berenyi, The Author of the Book So Much More, a Multi-Generational Memoir, where Cynthia tells the story of her Fathers experience fighting in the Hungarian Revolution that rose up against Russia in the 1950s & how that impacted her life.
We discuss the parallels between the Hungarian revolution & what's happening presently in the Ukraine.
We also talk about what it was like for her family to have gone through such a trauma & the effects of multi-generational trauma & the power of healing your wounds & finding your voice, not just on a personal level but on a much wider community level.
Cynthia’s book is an eye opening, deeply personal account of the effects that trauma can have on generations to come, told in a beautifully nostalgic way.
You can find a copy of her book So Much more over on Amazon, via the link below

**TRIGGER WARNING** Talk of Sexual Abuse & R*pe.
Jess Michaels is an accomplished dancer with 30 years experience as a dance industry professional, educator and entrepreneur.
She is also a survivor of sexual assault by Jeffrey Epstein in 1991 and childhood sexual abuse.
Unexpectedly, her healing journey began almost 20 years later, on December 14, 2012, after her hometown of Newtown CT was devastated by the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. In 2015,
Jess joined Dylan’s Wings of Change, a foundation dedicated to Dylan Hockley, one of the first-grade victims in the shooting.
It was there, in her hometown, teaching dance classes and working alongside the brave parents who had lost their children,
Jess began to connect the value of shame-free, community-based early trauma intervention to the needs of sexual assault survivors.
Her message normalizes a proactive, empowered emergency response to SA equipping us to effectively prepare for—rather than react to—one of society's most common, catastrophic crimes while advancing healing, justice and prevention.

Have you ever felt like you wanted to be anyone else other than yourself?
I know I have.
On this weeks episode we chat to a very special friend of mine, Rachelle Pitcher.
Rachelle is a Master Practitioner of NLP Time Line Therapy & Advanced Hypnotherapy, she is also a Reiki Master. She coaches with a specific focus on helping people overcome fear, phobias and anxiety, it may not surprise you to hear that what lead Rachelle down this path was wanting to overcome her own struggles with overwhelming anxiety & fear.
Rachelle was raised with in the confines of a very strict religion and due to the immense pressure she felt she was under to be the "good girl" or the right type of girl for her family & God, she forced herself to become a very high functioning achiever, by the age of 14 she had finished school & by 15 she was in the work force.
Going out in to the world made her desire to experience new things that were frowned upon by the Church & her family, this caused her to disconnect from her body and extreme fear & anxiety began to take hold.
At 20 years old Rachelle was excommunicated from the church for decisions she made.
Listen to the full episode to find out how she dealt with being cut off by everyone she loved & everything she knew & overcame her extreme anxiety & fear, only to evolve and transform in to the beautiful soul & healer she is today.
If you want to chat to Rachelle about overcoming your fears, phobias or anxiety then you can contact her here
