The Louisiana Renaissance Festival is over. I'm heading home to spend the holidays with my family. As I drive, I share the last news and lessons learned from this weekend including an update on my Celtic Christmas video show that's coming. Find out more at http://CelticChristmasMusic.net
It's #CelticThursday and I have some time to actually do promo for the day where I ask you to share something Celtic with people through social media. Today, I'm sharing my song "Let's Have a Celtic Christmas". It's the first song on my album "Celtic Christmas Greetings" with lyrics by Rie Sheridan Rose and music by me. http://celticmusic.org/CelticChristmasGreetingCards
If you supported my Kickstarter for Celtic Christmas Greeting Cards, then I have some important news for you. Please listen.
I'm home sick with my daughter. So in today's show, I keep it fairly short and share the immediate news of interest, including a show at The Irish House, the new Celtic Rock episode of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast, thoughts on the Celtic Christmas shows. And more. Immediately after I finished recording this I realized I forgot to mention my next internet concert. It's tomorrow night at 7 pm on Thurs, Dec 4th. I was at the post office today. When the attendant asked me how I got to music. And I discovered a nice revelation about how Elvis Presley's music affected me. Subscribe at http://celtfather.com

On my drive back to the Louisiana Renaissance Festival, I had a brainstorm about a new podcast that I hope to roll out in the next couple o'weeks. It's a new Celtic Christmas podcast highlighting my album Celtic Christmas Greetings which is now mostly in the mail. Find out what I love about podcasts and also how you can win a free t-shirt. I'm trying to figure out how to promote my Celtic music show at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival. So I take a retrospective look at what is Celtic music and what is Celtic Geek?
I've been sharing the stage with the Dublin Harpers, a family of Celtic musicians from Dublin, Ohio. As the name says, they play harp music, but it's not like harp music you've heard before. There are at least two harpers, a bodhran player, and occasional other instruments mixed in by the whole family. The music is also upbeat, with reels and jigs that sound like reels and jigs. If you usually think of harp music as slow and pretty, then give this a listen and find out how wrong you are. Find out more about the band at http://www.facebook.com/dublinharpers
I got to chat with Jared Billeaud, one of the drummers and singers with the Whiskey Bay Rovers. He also came up with the original idea for the song "Reavers, Malcolm, Reavers" that went on my CD, "Sci Fi Drinking Songs". We talked a wee bit about how he got started with music and the song. http://celticmusic.org/SciFiDrinkingSongs
The Whiskey Bay Rovers came by to chat with me at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival after a show. We talked origin stories of these pirates from Lafayette.
I am happy to announce a Celtic Christmas Show was officially sponsored by my Patrons. Can I pull it off in time for Christmas? Meanwhile, you can win something cool if you help me get reviews of this podcast. Post a review from now until the end of November 2014 for a chance to win a Celtic Geek review.
