Let me ask you a perhaps somewhat strange question: Our vehicles, cars, buses, trams, trains,
as well as certain airplanes, etc., usually have their seats facing both the direction of travel and
the opposite direction. Somehow the seats in the direction of travel have been scary to me since
my childhood, because I always had the thought that in the event of a collision I could fly away
and fly forward. For this reason I always sat down on a seat in the train and tram in the opposite
direction to the direction of travel, i.e. with my back in the direction of travel. I always did this
because I thought that if there was a collision I would be better protected. Could that somehow
be a stupid thought of mine?

Not at all, because our early ancestors were already working on this, and their studies
showed that it is actually much more dangerous when seats are placed in the direction of travel
and used in this wise.
So decrees were issued that seats could only be placed and used in vehicles when driving
in the opposite direction, which saved a great many lives.
That is how it appears in our annals.
