As one of the state’s Land Grant universities, Kentucky State University is reaching youth in underserved areas across the state through 4-H. KSU State 4-H Program Director Shawn Gardner says their program is designed to help the University of Kentucky reach youth.

More than 3,000 visitors are touched by Shekina Villageh in Letcher County each year. Stephanie Morgan says she and her husband Chad run Shekinah Village, but have quite a bit of help each year.

When Travelin the Bluegrass we meet some of the most wonderful people in Kentucky. Meeting Mr Marcus Ely in Benham, who has played Santa Claus there for 69 years is one of those special people.

A lifelong resident of Benham, Kentucky, says he would not trade his life in the mountains for another way of life. Marcus Ely, who is 93-years-old, says he is proud of his heritage in the tri-cities area of Harlan County.

After a brief career in education, Duane Kenney says he is excited to be back in agriculture lending with Farm Credit Mid-America in Maysville. Kenny says he previously worked in agriculture lending before spending some time in education.

The University of Kentucky Research and Education Center in Princeton is making a huge difference in agriculture in the state and across the country. On hand to help commemorate 100 years Thursday, October 16th, was University of Kentucky Board of Trustees Chairman Britt Brockman who noted the service to Kentucky agriculture.
