Howdy Listeners! In this episode we take our last trip in Southern Africa to Cape Town, South Africa. It is a short trip time-wise but a long trip for all the great memories and experiences. Truly one of our best trips, especially if you ask Dante and Isabel. We visit a vineyard from the 1600's, hang out with penguins, eat great food, climb mountains and more! Some of the places mentioned in the pod are here for your internet browsing pleasure!
PS - please forgive the screeching in the background, this episode was recorded from our exile-BnB in Singapore after the pool opened up...it happens to be right outside our apartment!
Places Mentioned:
In this episode we wrap up our trip with the Lefebvre family with a short week in Zanzibar. Zanzibar had everything from "beach-less beach condos" to a world heritage town in Stone Town. We had several "Tribulations" mostly involving housing, but there was a jellyfish thrown in for good measure as well.
Some of the places mentioned in the podcast...and most definitely NOT endorsed are as follows:
Over the Christmas/New Year holiday we traveled to Tanzania and Zanzibar with our good friends the Lefebvre family. In this episode we will look at the Tanzania side of the trip. We go on a classic African safari journey to several places including the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. We were lucky enough to see the Big Five on the trip, have excellent accommodations and wonderful company. We hope you will enjoy our trip half as much as we did.
Some of the companies and places we mention. At no time do we receive anything from these folks, we just thought you might like to learn more.
2:20 - Zohar African Safaris
When presented with a long weekend what do you do? Go to Nashville, of course! Or at least that is what we did. We met up with Charmagne's sister, Maureen and her daughter, Julia for some sightseeing and good food! While we had what turned out to be our worst BnB so far, it presented a learning opportunity for next time, we also had great food, fun distillery tours and nice walks along some of Nashville's creeks.
Take a listen as we recount our adventures in Nashville!
Places mentioned in this episode, not endorsed, just mentioned. :)
The George Jones restaurant
In this episode we will wrap up our trip in Cambodia with yet more food recommendations and a biking trip through the temples of Angkor Wat. Thrown in for fun is a description of a wet market, tips for a fair-trade market and what to do incase your trip gets interrupted by a pandemic. So tune in and enjoy the show!
Places we visited that we mention and are not receiving any endorsements from. :)
Lily's Secret Garden
Grasshopper Tours
Made in Cambodia Market
In this episode we will cover the first few days of our trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Though we moved to China in August of 2019, we have never traveled in Asia as a family, and for Charmagne and I it has been almost 20 years since our last visit to the region. We left Shanghai for Cambodia at the beginning of Chinese New Year. More specifically we flew into Siem Reap January 24, 2020.
We do mention a few different places and activities and promised to link to them. These are strictly for reference purposes and not endorsements, nor do we receive anything for listing them here.
