Real Life Story and Characters

I expected this book to be like most of the series that I have read but it wasn't! The author writes about a subject which is so true to life and the characters are so believable. The two main characters have secrets from the past which causes them to be hesitant about their relationships with each other. Rick has returned from the Marines with a prosthetic hand only to have his mother die from cancer. He is left alone to deal with the incident which caused the death of his close friend and the loss of his hand. Jess was once a close friend of Rick's but she had wanted it to be more than friendship. He went to war and she moved in with a man who was not the person she thought he was. This relationship ended bad and left her with scars both physical and mental.

Rick and Jess meet again at her sister's wedding and thus begins a wonderful story of finding a lost love and uncovering long buried secrets. The story moves quickly with each page and you will not want to put the book down. I am anxious to read the next book in this series.

Really liked the story. Donna's an excellent writer. I almost didn't read it, as it said it has to do with some one returning from war and his problems. I prefer not to read about those, too depressing, but that's me. However, his story is interesting, and there's a lot more than that here.

BUT, WHERE'S THE EPILOGUE !? There should always be one please.

I have read the third book in the Jewell Cove series, but don't recall seeing much about Jess and Rick.

Good series

The House on Blueberry Hill trapped me and this was a very interesting follow-up. Looking forward to the next one. Characters are believable and interesting.

Good story

Enjoyed this story about two wounded people finding their way to love. I liked the way the author connected with the characters from her first book in the series.

Continuation of characters

I absolutely love a series of books that continue in the same town or city as well as main characters. You fall in love with the families and Jewell Cove.
