Simply put, the Gospel of Mark is about following Jesus. Whether someone is seeking to understand who Jesus is or wanting to grow as a follower of Christ, the Gospel of Mark tackles these issues head-on. Over the next few months, we will work through Mark to seek to answer these two questions: 1) Who is Jesus? and 2) What does it mean to follow Jesus? This week, Pastor Michael looks at the call and cost of following Jesus from Mark 1:16-20. Is your life at Christ's disposal?

In this Core Equip Class, we are studying Christian Formation: How the Spiritual Disciplines Help Us Grow in Godliness. There are many ways Christians grow, but an instrumental resource for growth in the Christian life are the spiritual disciplines. Spiritual disciplines are means of grace that help form godly character and Christlike living in our lives. In this six week class, we will cover three primary spiritual disciplines: Bible reading, prayer, fellowship. We will also spend time considering how to intentionally implement these disciplines into our everyday life. This week's class focuses on evangelism and stewardship of our time and finances within the framework of the Great Commission.

Both in our culture and with the church today, there is often confusion about what the church is and a temptation to minimize the significance of the church in the life of the Christian. Rather than seeking pragmatic answers or looking at the most recent trend, we want to ask, "What does God say about the church? What is God’s plan for His church?" This week Pastor Michael looks at how Matthew 28:16-20 defines the mission of the church to make disciples of all nations.

Just as God disciplines His children out of love and for their holiness and restoration, so He calls the church to pursue discipleship and practice church discipline out of love, for our holiness, and with the aim of restoration.
