We continue with the accomplishment of redemption at the cross, with the definition of atonement, the motive of God in providing atonement, what we mean by the -instrument of atonement,- the atonement as being penal substitutionary atonement, two false theories of the atonement, and two views of the necessity of the atonement.

As we begin the next unit of Systematic Theology, the accomplishment of redemption at the cross, and the application of redemption to the elect, we start with three questions- Why do we need salvation- what are we saved from- and why can't we just save ourselves-
