Captain’s Log, Stardate 99944.2, after a week of much needed shore leave as I welcomed the newest addition to my family and crew, I can’t help but feel a personal kinship with this week’s episode titles … Just as in Picard’s “Farewell”, I, Captain Shoff, have also bid a fond farewell, to the life I knew before the arrival of my baby girl, and just as in “Strange New Worlds”, I, too, am embarking on a new mission into a strange new world as the father of not one but two gorgeous girls. This new mission will certainly challenge me but also inspire me to reach for the stars and boldly go forward into this adventure of fatherhood with the promise of a better tomorrow for my little cadets, Emily and Sage, the brightest stars in my sky …
