A post on X has called on Malaysians to stop normalising RM20 meals as cheap and cheerful, pointing out that the average Singaporean earning SGD4,000 a month only pays SGD10 for their meals. This raised the question of whether our perception of food costs are terribly skewed, or if we're aware of expensive meals (and just 'tak apa' our way through).
