For our first episode back from the break, we spoke with Rana Salah & Dania, two Muslim activists based in Montreal. We talked about the political context that’s led to an increase in attacks against Muslims in Quebec, culminating in the recent murder of six Muslims by a white supremacist at the Islamic Cultural Centre of Quebec.

The names of the men were: Azzeddine Soufiane (57), Khaled Belkacemi (60), Aboubaker Thabti (44), Abdelkrim Hassane (41), Ibrahima Barry (39), and Mamadou Tanou Barry (42).

We're back from our month off! We spoke with Orit Bashkin, author of 'The New Babylonians: A History of Jews in Modern Iraq,' about the history of Iraq's Jewish left and why certain Jewish histories remain untold.

On this episode we spoke with Rebecca Vilkomerson, executive director of Jewish Voice for Peace. Over the past 20 years, JVP has grown to become the largest Jewish leftist organization in the US, with over 200,000 supporters and 60 chapters. We talked with Rebecca about the history of the group, how it’s changed, and what today's political climate means for their work.

We spoke with Aurora Levins Morales about her recent article in the Nation, mentoring younger Jewish activists, and putting a Trump victory into historical context.
