2020 has been a challenging year. And as it has closed it has left many anxious, scared, and uncertain. In this message, Pastor Rick leads us in how to address this fear. In the last message, from Isaiah 24, we looked at what this world is coming to--sure judgment. In this message we look at the wonderful salvation the Lord has brought in Christ Jesus--a salvation that calls for a new song.

I would imagine every generation has asked, “What is this world coming to?” At the end of 2020 we have asked and heard this question asked many times. Well, the Scriptures give us a definitive answer to this question. In this message we look at where God is taking us and how only in Him can we be safe and secure.

Why has Jesus’ opponents chosen not to believe in Him? For that matter, why does anyone? It is not for want of evidence. It is not for want of disclosure--the Lord has thoroughly revealed Himself in His word, especially in the context of our passage. In our text this morning, Jesus reveals the answer.

Jesus has been accused of Sabbath breaking and blasphemy--making Himself equal with the Father. In verses 19 through 30 Jesus made it clear that He is equal with the Father. In our text this morning, Jesus boldly states that the Father bears witness to His claims. The Father bears witness through 1) John the Baptist 2) the works Jesus does 3) the Scriptures. Because it is only through Scripture we can see any of this we see how important it is for the Pastor to center on preaching the word soundly and in a way that presents Christ.
