In Proverbs 9 we have two opposing voices, two opposing paths, two opposite roads. You cannot travel both. You must choose one or the other. This morning we find ourselves in a new chapter where the Coronavirus has forced us to meet via distance. While the technology we are using may seem exciting there is an inherent danger in what we are doing. Online technology can never replace a physical meeting. Secondly, meeting this way increases our susceptibility to spectating. We cannot be a spectator and a worshiper. As a spectator we can be drawn into worship but then we cease spectating and begin worshiping. Why the big concern? That is the subject of this message. This past week we find ourselves seeing some of the sobering effects of the Coronavirus. School closings, work closings, grocery store shelves have all created an eerie atmosphere which has instilled great fear and anxiety. How long will this last? How dangerous will it be? What toll will it take on life as we know it? While these are important questions, without diminishing these questions in any way, I want to ask what I believe is a more important question: What would God have us to think about this? In other words, what direction does God give us on this? That is the subject I take up in this message.

Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). What does it look like to be born again? What does it look like to be converted? I plead with you to listen in as I take us through a living illustration of real, life-transforming conversion from Genesis. This is no academic triviality. What could be more important than life after death? What could be more important than being right with God? What riches could compare to being in eternity with Christ?
