The latest episode in our series comes from an artist whose work we've admired for a long time; Canadian live electronics expert Dark Arps! Inspired by pivotal acts like Hybrid, Underworld and The Prodigy, his music is bursting with colour and warmth with a heavy emphasis on experimentation. We're starting the year and shaking off the hangover from our NYE party with another episode full of deep, electronic sounds. This time it's an hour of dark energy from label boss Boom Merchant, recorded live in Amsterdam close to the end of what was a huge year with gigs across the globe and some big releases that pushed his sound into new creative territories. Many of his recent productions will see light in 2018, with releases coming on Tribal Pulse vinyl, Frequenza, Asymmetric, ProBTech and a very special vinyl-only release with more info to follow. Ahead of his performance in Glasgow this Saturday night, we've invited Maltese acid maestro Acidulant to provide the next hour of sonic exploration in our series. Here he's provided us with an hour of live exploration focused on the more retro/house side of his sound, recorded live last weekend at I Love Acid in London, where he performed alongside Luke Vibert, Jon Dasilva & Posthuman.

Born in Moscow, he received a musical education from a young age and benefitted from long-term friendships and collaborations with Chaim and Guy Mantzur. Now a resident of Tel Aviv, he criss-crosses the globe spinning his distinctive hypnotic sounds to crowds in a large and growing list of countries. For our next expedition into the underground we bring you an artist who's sounds are generating a lot of interest from DJs and lovers of electronic music worldwide: Lee Williams.

One of the most sought after DJs on the UK's South Coast, he's had the opportunity to take his techy but progresssive sounds across Europe with performances in Germany, France and Switzerland as well as performances at Ministry of Sound, Pacha, Pulse Festival and Egg.

Having played alongside Sasha, Darren Emerson, Layo & Bushwacka amongst many others, his releases have attracted the attention of heavyweights like Dave Seaman and Dave Angel, and remix treatment from Digweed's production partner Nick Muir.

Here he showcases his deep and moving rhythms, and you can catch him alongside Boom Merchant at our next event at Stereo in Glasgow on 6th August:

Our final episode of the year is by an artist whose unique and diverse sounds in the studio and behind the decks have earned him support from across the globe: label boss and all round rhythm freak, Boom Merchant! His pivotal releases have helped define the label's identity, and DMC Mag described his latest release with us as 'a really physical cut that will make people move their limbs without a care in the world.'

Releases on renowned labels like Motech, Process and Teleskopik have seen him continuously refine his signature sound. Data Transmission have described his work as 'rich and uncompromising analogue persuasions', 'full of discerning goodness from the first beat to the last.'

We feel this mix rounds up our year's activities nicely. You can catch Boom Merchant showcasing the full array of his sounds with an all night set to the lights and colours of WeAreTallOrder at our first event of 2016 on 23rd January at Stereo in Glasgow. Enjoy!
