In this week's episode of Tribe Builders, I sit down with Tracey Northcott of Tokyo Family Stays — a powerhouse in the short-term rental space with a deep, global perspective. We go way beyond hosting logistics to unpack what it really takes to build a scalable business, why curiosity should lead the way, and how shame, masking, and defensiveness can quietly stall our growth if we're not careful.
Tracey shares her journey of building a business in Japan, navigating cultural and real estate differences, and refusing to be boxed in by industry norms. We talk about the importance of surrounding yourself with thought partners who meet you with support — not judgment — and why business doesn't have to be lonely.
Whether you're in real estate, hosting, or just trying to build something meaningful on your terms, this conversation is packed with real talk, laughs, and aha moments you don't want to miss.

In this solo episode, Tanya reflects on the powerful takeaways from an in-person event with her coach—focusing on intentionality, frequency, and authentic connection. She explores how choosing to stay in high-frequency spaces with people you genuinely align with creates momentum, and how challenges are often invitations to grow. This week on Tribe Builders, I'm joined by Arizona-based STR host and co-host Wendy Doris.
We talk about how isolating hosting can feel, and why surrounding yourself with other hosts creates unexpected support and community. We imagine what a better Airbnb review system might look like—one that actually reflects what matters to hosts and guests.
With a background in coaching—from gymnastics to house flipping to STRs—Wendy brings a teacher's heart and a host's perspective to every part of her business. This conversation is a reminder that being a great host isn't just about amenities—it's about awareness, safety, connection, and continuing to grow.

Getting Unstuck with Goal Setting & Accountability
In this episode of Tribe Builders, we're tackling one of the biggest things that holds people back: fear. Fear of showing up. Fear of being judged. Fear of not having all the answers. I unpack real conversations with business owners who hesitate to share what they do online—because what if someone questions them?
We'll explore how goal setting and accountability can break through that hesitation and how a coach (like me!) can help shift the mindset from perfection to progress. I also share why being attached to your actions—not the outcome—is the key to real momentum.
You'll walk away with practical strategies to identify small but meaningful weekly goals that take 2 hours or less—perfect for building habits, getting traction, and staying out of overwhelm.
And yes, I share how you can work with me directly—whether it's 1:1 or inside my group—to get the support and structure you need to finally move forward.

In this raw and honest solo episode, I share what it feels like to be the one calling the shots—but feeling completely lost. I talk about the weight of being the leader, the decider, the one who is "supposed to" have it all together, even when clarity is nowhere in sight. I even considered selling everything and starting over in a ski town—because sometimes, the dream feels too heavy to carry.
I also share a story about a dear friend who's been stuck in her own version of this heaviness, carrying something so quietly and for so long that she forgot how much it's affecting every part of her life. I challenged her to put a date on her suffering, to outline the best and worst case scenarios, and decide: stay or walk away. This episode is an invitation to all of us to stop dragging the indecision around and face what's weighing us down.

Reflections on Friendship, Politics & Growing Up This episode is different. No teaching, no tactics—just me, talking through something I've been sitting with. I'm reflecting on what it means to grow older and navigate friendships that don't quite align the way they used to—especially in today's political climate. Social media algorithms, evolving beliefs, and the weirdness of adulthood all play a part. Can we still hold space for each other, even when we don't see eye to eye? I don't have answers, but I do have thoughts. If you've been feeling this too, come sit with me.
