Many get carried away with this romanticized idea of working for yourself and having your own company. As a result, these aspiring entrepreneurs sort of making up a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist or is not that significant to many.

At IB, we teach you that if there is no customer, there is no company. You want to find/encounter a problem, then find a solution for yourself, test a market-product fit BEFORE scaling it. We invited Karim, a fourth-year student and a former Chair of Enactus, to share his journey of becoming a social entrepreneur.

Commonly, once you are in, there will be plenty of room for professional development and career progression to evolve and find your niche. But first, how do you get your foot in an entry-level job? The finance and accounting field is very competitive, but don't feel discouraged just yet. Before you begin the race, it would help to have the wind behind you. We talked with Mark Cathersides - Co-owner at Roca Markets (a market maker in exchange-traded option) and asked him what personality traits are needed to succeed in finance today.
