How Prophecy and Modern Innovation Converge in the End Times

 The Prophetic timeline for what we commonly call the Tribulation is found in Daniel chapter nine—the 70 weeks prophecy for Israel: specifically verse 27.

 

"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominationshe shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." - Daniel 9:27 KJV

 ·       “one week” is a week of years, not days – 7 years.

·       “midst of the week” – the middle of the 7 years – 3 ½ years.

·       “sacrifice and the oblation to cease” – Temple sacrifices, the Temple must be rebuilt since verse 26 declares that the people “shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.” That happened in 70 AD.

·       “overspreading of abominations” – the abomination of desolation perpetrated by the Antichrist at the midpoint of the 7 years.

·       “consummation” – the end of the 7-year Tribulation.

·       “poured upon the desolate” – the pouring of the 7 vials of the wrath of God.
