As we come to the end of chapter 2, Peter is still discussing false teachers. In this section he highlights the end that all false teachers face: eternal torment in hell. Not only that, but their guilt and punishment will be all the worse because they have been exposed to the gospel of Christ, let they've rejected it and twisted it for their own benefit. How should we react to these false teachers and how do we interact with individuals who are exposed to them?

The end of 1 Thessalonians is a bit like an encore: When we think the book is ending, there is still plenty more to add. And at the very end of the epistle, Paul leaves us with four brief statements. So before we can finalize our series on this letter, we need to work through these final remarks. Today we look at Paul's request for prayer and how we should greet one another in the church.

In our section of Peter's harsh speech toward false teachers, we have to ask- Why does Peter speak this way-- One factor is that Peter is walking by faith, not by sight- He is interpreting life through the grid of Scripture. What Peter is doing is what is expected of us as well. How do we live like this-- How can we work at identifying false teachers-- And what should our lives look like when we are living this way--
