Urgency in 2018 - Part 2
I. Know the finish line
Phil. 3:12
2 Corinthians 11:23-29
"The critical question for our generationand for every generationis this: If you could have heaven, with no sickness, and with all the friends you ever had on earth, and all the food you ever liked, and all the leisure activities you ever enjoyed, and all the natural beauties you ever saw, all the physical pleasures you ever tasted, and no human conflict or any natural disasters, could you be satisfied with heaven, if Christ was not there?" - John Piper
Phil. 3:13-14
II.Know the prize
Phil. 3:12
III. Know the worth
If there is no worth to the prize there will not be urgent effort given to win it.
If "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son," doesn't measure at the top of your value-meter, then your appraisal process is broke.
IV. Know the cost
Gal. 2:20
Hebrews 12:1-2
"LUKEWARM PEOPLE think about life on earth much more often than eternity in heaven. Daily life is mostly focused on today's to-do list, this week's schedule, and next month's vacation. Rarely, if ever, do they intently consider the life to come."
"If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this." - C. S. Lewis
