In James 5:7–12, we’re called to live with tenacious patience in the face of suffering, stress, and injustice. Using the picture of driving, this talk explores three habits of awareness that help us endure faithfully: looking forward to Jesus’ return, looking back to the examples of the prophets and Job, and looking in to guard our hearts and words. Along the way, we’ll see why patience is not passive waiting but an intentional, Spirit-empowered way of life. James challenges us to fix our eyes on God’s justice, remember those who endured before us, and pay attention to our own speech under pressure. Together, these habits equip us to hold on with grit and hope, trusting the Lord who is full of compassion and mercy.
