As we continue to focus on the phrase "Go Deep" we are going to turn to relationships. Adam and Eve paint a picture in the Garden of Eden of what deep relationships should look like, and give us hope of the impact of deep relationships in our lives.

What does depth in our relationship with God look like? Jesus paints a picture in John 15 of connection to the vine, God, and a life of commitment to God.

Dallas Willard says that it doesn’t matter how much you ask “what would Jesus do?” Unless you are already in the process of doing the kinds of things He did. No matter your convictions, or knowledge, Jesus makes it clear that it needs to translate into action.

Scripture calls us to Go Out, but what does it look like? Going out begins with relationship. Teddy Roosevelt once said, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Jesus models for us that go out begins intentionally with relationships with others.

It's that time of year again: new year, new resolutions, new goals for life, a new start in relationships and jobs. God is a god of new, too. We are reminded in Isaiah that part of God's transforming work in the world is making things new, transforming the world we live in.

On Christmas we celebrate Jesus birth, and the great things it must mean, and then we leave Christmas service to reminders of the imperfections of the world we find ourselves in. So what does it mean? What did the arrival of a little baby in Bethlehem mean?

You are 6 hours into the 14 hour road trip. You are well on the way, but not there yet. We hear from scripture a set of instructions for that middle time, an encouragement that we can have joy and peace as we wait for Jesus to come again into our broken world.

Relationships are great until they are not. It’s great to feel love and be known, it is hard when those same people cause you pain, grieve, and stress. Isaiah cries out to God, knowing the pain he feels every time we turn our back on Him and sin. Isaiah asks, are you still there God, and is this going to get any better?

November 30- Start of Advent (Hope) Luke 1:46b-55 Mary’s prayer

Alone. Vulnerable. Scared. Now what? All of these would be normal feelings for Mary to feel at the announcement of Jesus’ birth, yet her prayers sound much different. Mary reminds us of the Hope we can have in God’s plan.
