We live in an instant world. High-speed internet, email at fingertip on your phone everywhere you go, and fast food is not only normal, but expected. But God’s answer to prayer doesn't always happen in our timing, or the way we had planned. What about when God answers our prayers with something weird?

Wise men came from all over to follow a star , and found a small child. They presented him with gifts fit for a king, of great value and cost. As we reflect on this Christmas what gift can we bring to God?

As we hear the story of Jesus' birth you have to wonder, couldn't God have done this another way? Jesus came so quietly, so humbly, did everyone even know it happened?

Why change anything? Doesn’t that make more work for everyone? John the Baptist was challenged about his new movement and lifestyle preparing for Jesus arrival, and has to defend why they don’t just stick to what is normal, why don’t they just go with the crowd, why do they have to be so different?

Sometimes the hardest thing to do when life has you down, is to change your life for the better. There is a comfort in the struggle, it’s familiar, it’s something you can count on. John the Baptist arrives with a warning, the savior you have been asking for is coming, but trust me he is going to rock your world when he gets here. Are you ready?

You know the gut wrenching feeling; you know that this is not going to turn out good. As you hit the end of your rope, you get a unique perspective from the bottom looking up. We begin to get a perspective of those awaiting the coming of this Christ-child, and why they awaited his arrival so expectantly.

John 15:1-17 gives us Jesus' model for our lives: fruitful living with authentic life-changing power is found by only abiding in the True Vine.
