Dr. Paul Holritz has the message segment for Session 1 of our 2020 World Missions Conference. In this message Paul shares from the Scriptures and by way of personal illustration, the marks of a healthy ambassador for Christ.
Our series from the book of Job is concluded in this sermon from Job 42 in which we see God restore to Job what He took away during the time of his suffering. God restores Job's friends, his finances, his family, and his favor. A baptismal celebration is also part of this service!
After much deliberation by Job and his friends on the nature of Job's suffering, at last God speaks beginning in Job 38. As God begins to speak, Job and his friends are left speechless. In this sermon, listen as God takes Job to school on a variety of topics that all reveal the vast wisdom and might of God in contrast with man's limited understanding.
“The Gospel According to Job” is the title of the fourth sermon in our series, “Making Sense of Suffering.” In response to his friends’ remarks in Chapter 8, Job offers remarkable observations in Chapter 9 about the character of God. Despite the fact that Job lived before any portion of God’s Word might have been in his possession, his statements reveal a man who had a well formulated theology of who God is - giving him a firm foundation on which to stand during the time of his suffering.
In this third message from our series on the book of Job, we consider the depth of Job’s depression and how Job’s friends responded to that depression. Gain a better understanding through this sermon of a biblical perspective of depression – what it is and how we should rightly respond to it in our own lives and in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
This is the second sermon in a series entitled “Making Sense of Suffering.” In this sermon, Pastor Brian focusses on how Job coped with his loss by evaluating the stages of Job’s grief as seen in Job 1:20-22. He concludes by considering some of the reasons we suffer as believers.
This sermon is the first in a new series from the book of Job, entitled, “Making Sense of Suffering.” In this first sermon, Pastor Brian takes a look at Job Chapter 1 where the setting is established and we learn the quality of Job’s Testimony and the extent of Job’s Test.
As Christians, we have so much to anticipate in the future home that awaits us. Scripture provides us glimpses of what this new "Eternal State" will be like and it encourages us amid the trials and struggles of this life to look ahead to the life to come. Be refreshed and encouraged by this sermon about the glories, beauty, and wonder of the New Heaven and the New Earth that we anticipate.
The greetings at the end of Paul’s Letter to the Romans are oftentimes overlooked - seeming at first glance to lack any applicability for today. In this sermon, Pastor John takes the time to consider these greetings and the glimpses they provide into the lives of those Paul specially recognizes. As we study these names, we realize that the church should be a diverse, unified family, an active, serving body, and a loving, caring fellowship.
As we prepare to launch several of our ministries again this fall, Pastor John challenges the congregation to get plugged in!
