What we often overlook is that the victory of Christ makes every other victory possible. Because of what He accomplished we too can be victorious over death when the end of our life comes.

Jesus modeled for us one basic principle that is key to every other relationship: Focus on The primary relationship with the Father and THEN the secondary relationships that come our way. This week we’ll look at why this is critical.

It is clear that Jesus entrusted Himself to Mary while He refused to entrust Himself to the crowd. What made her different than the fickle crowd that wanted Him to deliver them?

When we can’t understand God’s plan He is deeply moved.

When we groan in our waiting, He prays for us.

When we suffer, He works all things together for our good.

His greatest good for us is always that we become more like Jesus.

Let’s go in depth into the main two ways we tear each other down rather than build each other up: Gossip and Sarcasm. I call Gossip the Outer Cut because it tears apart other people’s perception of the person I gossip about. The second cut is sarcasm. I call it the Inner Cut because it is a silent assassin that slowly kills our hearts.

We cannot simply be content to be blessed by God; we must realize that we are blessed to be a blessing.

The road to transforming our tongue starts with a deep realization of how devastating our tongue can be to our lives and to the lives of those around us.
