Even though God desires to speak to us and treats all believers equally, it is our responsibility to prepare and protect the spiritual atmosphere in our lives where we can hear His voice. This message looks at the things that hinder us from being able to hear God’s voice and how to remove them.

Jesus is our Shepherd. He realizes that we are sheep and must have an active, communicating dialogue with Him to succeed and survive. He speaks and expects us to hear and follow. As we learn to recognize God's voice, it's important to know the ways that God speaks to us as well as the nature of His voice.

In Matthew 6, Jesus teaches the format of the Lord's Prayer and explains the reward that comes with prayer - the reward of being in conversation with God! Prayer helps us hear God and move in His presence, and since God already knows our needs, it's important to remember that prayer is an opportunity to have a conversation with our Father.

Romans 12 says, "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person." When we enter into God’s presence - through worship, prayer, and reading the word - He transforms our mind and heart.
