Revelation 20 doesn't teach a kingdom after the 2nd Coming where Jesus reigns and Satan is bound - and yet there's still sin and death.  This kingdom is not that which exists after the 2nd coming but the kingdom in which we live now.  What comes after the 2nd Coming is a consummated kingdom where death has died, Satan has been cast in to the Lake of Fire, and believers in the Lord Jesus dwell with the Lord forever.

The end to all the empty promises of the great city of Babylon is judgment and destruction.  Babylon promises a lot but cannot deliver.  They are but empty promises.  Only God can deliver and provide what the world offers in couterfeit.  He is faithful to His promises.

Revelation 17- The Prostitute of Prostitutes is an alluring temptress but all she offers is empty lies. However, the Lord of lords delivers on that which He promises.

The message of judgment that is recapitulated through the 7 bowls is a message for Christians, non-Christians and the church alike.

In light of the harves of the earth, the saints are called to endure; we're called to resist the schemes of the enmies and look to the Lord Jesus Christ.

The enemy, in an effort to destroy and deceive the people of God, parodies the One True God.  This is a call for the endurance and the faith of the saints in the face of such an attack.

It may seem to be the height of hubris to title a sermon, "Just Awesome," but it has nothing to do with the sermon itself, but the content of the text.  This passage of Scripture is ... just... awesome!

The church's witness in the midst of a hostile world - we shouldn't be surprised.

The Word of the Lord is both bitter and sweet.  We are called to proclaim the whole counsel of God.
