We have been brought together in an uncommon way in the body of Christ. In today’s message discover what it takes to continue in that uncommon way of being together.

As John writes his letter he is addressing people who have some competing ideas about what it means to be a Christian in the world they live in. We face a similar challenge. There seems to be a rising darkness all around us that throws us into fear and doubt. But we have light that has already risen to meet this darkness and to overcome it. How do we do life in times like these? Everything seems so different! God promises us confidence and assurance when we embrace living UNCOMMON.

In his final two verses, James encourages us to join His Daring Rescue for those who have wandered. Who will you bring back?

While our human nature would have us run away from the world that is full of decay and darkness; God would ask us to view that very world through the cross of Jesus, and discover our purpose as His disciples is to run into the world and proclaim the Good News of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus.

As James all but closes out his letter he turns our attention to our prayer life. What does it mean to pray from a place of faith? Is it possible for prayer to truly be effective each and every time? Join us as we learn about prayer from the example of a man just like us, Elijah.

When listening to preachers and teachers of God’s Word, make sure you hear them preach and teach the whole Gospel truth. God’s Word is the only source of power to save and transform life. Preachers and teachers need not add anything to it, nor should they ever take anything away from it.
