Stubborn in Prayer: Prayer Never Fails
Pastor Nathan Moldenhauer
Prayer never fails because every prayer brings us to the God whose grace is sufficient. Prayer never fails because every prayer places our burdens into the hands of the Savior who died and rose for us. Prayer never fails because even when God doesn’t remove the thorn, he still gives us what we need most. When you pray, “Lord, enough,” your Father answers, “My grace is enough.” Amen.
Sermon Series/Stubborn in Prayer: When God Doesn't Answer Prayers Right Away (Reverend Ross Henzi)
Have you ever prayed a similar prayer and wondered if anyone was listening?
· Maybe you’ve prayed for healing, but the diagnosis hasn’t changed.
· Maybe you’ve prayed for a marriage, a job, peace of mind, relief from anxiety, freedom from addiction.
· You prayed yesterday. You prayed last month. You prayed last year.
And heaven seems…silent.
There may be nothing more difficult in the Christian life than waiting on God. We know God can answer. We know God loves us. But we don’t understand why he sometimes waits. That is where many believers struggle. We wonder, “Did I do something wrong?” “Has God forgotten me?” “Is he listening?”
God invites persistence because persistent prayer keeps bringing us back to him. Prayer doesn’t change God’s love for us. What prayer does do is remind us of where our hope is found, even if the answer has not yet come.
Maybe today you are living in the silence. You’ve prayed. You’ve waited. You’ve wondered. The Canaanite woman would tell you, “Don’t quit.” Don’t assume silence means God’s not listening. Don’t mistake delay for rejection. Jesus heard every word she prayed. He hears every word you pray. He has not forgotten you. He has not stopped loving you. His timing is perfect. His mercy is endless.
Stubborn in Prayer - When God Doesn’t Answer Prayers Right Away
Reverend Ross Henzi
Keep praying - even when you don’t understand. Keep trusting - even when nothing changes. Keep worshiping - even when your heart is heavy. Keep opening God’s word. Keep coming to the Lord’s Table. Keep gathering with God’s people. Don’t ever give up. Don’t ever quit.
God invites persistence because persistent prayer keeps bringing us back to him. Prayer doesn’t change God’s love for us. What prayer does do is remind us of where our hope is found, even if the answer has not yet come.
Stubborn in Prayer: When God Invites Persistent Prayer
Pastor Nathan Moldenhauer
So brothers and sisters, pray. Pray again. Pray tomorrow. Pray when you’re discouraged. Pray when you’re waiting. Pray when you don’t understand. Your God isn’t an unjust judge. He is your Father. He has chosen you. He loves you. He hears you.
The world might call it stubbornness. Jesus calls it faith. Faith keeps coming to its Father. Faith keeps asking. Faith keeps seeking. Faith keeps knocking. Faith is stubborn in prayer—not because God is reluctant to hear, but because God has promised to. Amen.
