Terrifying Balance of Modern Horror & Noir Mystery
Porzig weaves a series of dark, modern noir tales filled with chilling and jaw-dropping moments worthy of the silver screen. Detective Drake feels both classic and modern, familiar and unique, striking a nostalgic balance that readers will love. HIGHLY recommend it for fans of mystery, horror, occult and noir.
Engaging right from the start.
This is a series of 3 detective style stories. It is a mix of horror and mystery tightly bound together that keep you craving for more. The three stories were engaging and kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my my nails, and wondering if I would survive to the end. The book is read by hooror scream queen Brinke Stevens who gave to book even more suspense as she took you through the journey of the three stories.
Rollercoaster of terror
Porzig is great at throwing twists and turns and disturbing moments in along with humorous character quirks and jabs at groups such as news reporters and ghost hunters. This series is a non-stop thrill ride you won't want to put down. Stevens is a good narrator, and while almost too expressive, that's hardly anything to complain about with all the robotic drones of narrators out there. She is great at accents and languages and characterization. Overall, this is a brilliantly crafted series and I love that it's now all combined into one. A great read/listen for the Halloween season, or any time if you love creepy tales.
