The Apostle Peter declares that the promises concerning Christ and the New Covenant belong to adults and their children -Acts 2-39-. Baptism is a sign and seal of inclusion in God's Kingdom. The promise is greater than the sign. If the promise applies to children, how can any deny the sign- Like circumcision, baptism is to be applied to children.

Like Paul, we need to desire to know Christ, to know the power of His resurrection, to have fellowship in His suffering, and to be conformed to His death. How does one conquer death- Mankind is given to death because of sin. We cannot save ourselves. Only the powerful can save the powerless. Only the Power of God can overcome death, as He promised throughout Scripture beginning in Genesis 3-15. It is the death and resurrection of Jesus that frees God's elect from death.

The Lord's Supper points to the marriage supper of the Lord -Rev. 19-9-. In the institution of the table we are reminded to consider both what Judas and what Christ do. The contrast is great. Judas would betray Jesus and receive judgement along with all who deny Jesus. Jesus, in contrast, obeys the Father by giving His life on the cross to bring life to all who trust in Him. In the Supper Christ institutes a sign and seal of the New Covenant. The Supper is a remembering benefit to the people of God.

True saving faith and works are inseparably connected. Faith must come before works, as works are not meritorious. Justification is by faith, but faith without works is dead. Toil or works mature faith.

The Apostle Paul tells us the Christians are predestined to be conformed to the Image of Christ. This is a profound purpose. All men begin with a view of who God is. Our worldview depends on whether we accept or reject God as He is revealed in Scripture.--Series outline---1. The foundations of our worldview from a biblical standpoint.--2. Nehemiah provides us with an example to encourage us to rejoice greatly over the wonderful spiritual and physical blessings God provides for His people. We need to recount God's bountiful benefits to urge us to thanks. His providence is gracious and merciful and comes in great bounty.--1. In the midst of God's blessing, we need to be circumspect.--2. Thanksgiving moves us to action.--3. Thanksgiving should reach to all God's people and beyond through our tithes.
