  • Episode 13: Continuing Pagan Education

In today's episode, we discuss scholarly education in the Pagan community. Victoria discusses her experiences with the first circle of the ADF Clergy Training Program. Drum discusses scholarship as a way to explore how different paths work and broadening his practice. Amber discusses her passion as a scholar, completing ADF study programs as a way to build her toolkit.  We explore mythological comparisons, biases found in ancient texts, the bounty of the internet and modern scholars like Kristoffer Hughes. We also discuss study programs outside of ADF, practical coursework as clergy, and whether we think advanced study is an important part of someone’s practice. We discuss the availability of online courses and discernment when selecting teachers, courses, and resources, as well as how we utilize Wikipedia.

This week’s omen comes from the Magick Moon Oracle:

    • The Chameleon – adapt to the situation in order to keep moving forward
    • The Passionate – finding what you love in the moment and focusing on those things
    • Reflect – reflect on why these things are important and why they matter

In today's episode, we continue our discussion on Divination.  Part 1 of this discussion can be found here:  https://youtu.be/cjdlfZSU8dM

This week we discuss how the life experiences of a diviner effect divination and those experiences and open symbol sets.  We also discuss our experiences connecting to symbol sets in different contexts, and interpreting divination for yourself vs asking for help from others.  We share our experiences with daily divination and whether our chosen symbol sets have “personalities” of their own as well as our pre-divination rituals and the spirits of divination symbols.

This week's omen comes from the Magic Moon Oracle Deck

Comfort Seeker – find comfort in those gifts and the relationships you are building by sharing

Plan – Be looking to the future to see what we can do, what we can share, and where we can find comfort
