Happiness... it’s something we all chase in life. Maybe we are happy for a day... a week... a couple of years. But the feeling seems to always wear off. Why is that? Maybe we are chasing the wrong things to make us happy. What does the Bible say about our hope for happiness in this life?

We live in a generation that is abundant in just about everything—money, food, material things, instant gratification—but severely lacks hope. Why is that? Sometimes our mouths get us in trouble, don’t they? And once those words come out of our mouths, we can’t un-say them. Or maybe it’s our actions that get us in trouble. What happens when we know what God is wanting us to do, but decide to go our own way instead anyway? Are we eternally bound for condemnation, or can God bring us back to the path He has for us?

God is often trying to teach us something. Whether it be through conflict, difficulty, hardship or other means—there’s so much to learn in this life. So what’s hindering all this growth? How come—after all of these trials and tribulations in this life—we aren’t the wisest, most whole beings? It’s time to unsubscribe from the way the world operates and download God’s mentality!
