Love, marriage, wit, and empire waistlines abound in Emma Thompson's Oscar-winning adaptation of SENSE & SENSIBILITY, directed by the fabulous Ang Lee. Thompson won the Academy Award for her screenplay and was nominated for her performance as the pragmatic Elinor alongside Kate Winslet in a star-making turn as her impetuous sister, Marianne. Oh, and Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman figure in there somewhere.
