What does invoking the Emergency Act really mean?

That question has not been fully answered yet that hasn't stopped all kinds of breathless reporting on whether there should be breathless reporting on the latest developments in the Ottawa Occupation.  Sure, the Trudeau Liberals are taking a pounding in public opinion over their inabilty to quell the crisis. And it's caught the attention of international media - particularly among the prime time big thinkers at FOX. Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingram have been treating the prime minister like a political pinata. And that may be the one bright spot for Trudeau. I've got to believe that the LPC backroom gang is clipping every bit of that "commentary" for use in the next election campaign. The same loud mouths that support a seige on Parliament Hill are the same clowns who diminished and dismissed the armed insurrection in Washington DC on January 6, 2021. It will be easy to paint the Poilievre (?) Tories with that brush and almost impossible, no matter who may lead the CPC, for the party to separate itself from the Trump thumpers south of the border.
