Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of Trudge Report. On this week's episode we explore non-professionalism in recovery and the recovery groups. Why it is important for some to keep the altruism of recovery separate from their professional life, especially if they work in the field of drug and alcohol rehabilitation or counseling. Can you work in the treatment industry and stay spiritually grounded in your own sobriety? Two of our members have worked in the drug and alcohol recovery field in prior years so the group has the benefit of experience from all angles.

We also go around the horn at the beginning of the show checking in with one another. We preview some of the extra YouTube content that has been posted and will be posted in the near future as we gear up for NBA playoffs. Corey and Greg continue to tease about wrestling content. Shawn has a moment recounting the events of Sunday's Masters Tournament.

Join us this week as the Trudge Trio is here to bring you a new episode. We begin the show with a quick around the horn segment where Shawn makes a brief but very spirited argument on why NCAA March Madness may be the best of all playoffs and championships, college or professional. Corey and Greg wholeheartedly disagree and a short but good discussion arises. We introduce a new segment, where each of us describe one thing that we saw over the past week of someone doing a random act of kindness or witnessing kindness from one person to another. 

The main segment is all about where money and spirituality mix in the rooms of recovery. Where our donations and self support money goes and the different avenues for that money. Where it is not only useful, but necessary in carrying the message of recovery. We each detail some of our own personal experiences and what we have seen over the years. We also discuss how money can certainly be the root of all evil, and the recovery group is no different. How the primary purpose of carrying the message to the sick and suffering has to always remain the most important. We wrap this segment and the show with how each of us have utilized this principle of financial Independence and responsibility in our own lives. What's good for the recovery group is oftentimes just as important for the individual person in recovery.

Join us this week on Trudge Report for an all-new episode. We are doing a deep dive research topic on Biohacking. Biohacking is a do-it-yourself (DIY) form of personal improvement in which people attempt to change aspects of their biology to improve their health, performance, or well-being. Each of us took a different subtopic. We explore the elements of wearable technology, diet, fasting, and supplements. Recovery is about being not only spiritually and mentally well, but physically also. We have some typical banter on the front end of the show and Corey almost gets struck by lightning.

Greetings Trudge Report report fans. Welcome to a very special episode. We are happy to have Scott H on the show this week as a guest. Scott is a good friend of Bill and part of his recovery group. Scott shares his experience, strength, and hope. He has been sober a long time and has lived an absolutely full and abundant life, doing everything from being an NCAA division 1 swimmer, a firefighter in New York during 9/11, government contractor, and working security for DT. Scott was a great guest and we are very grateful to him for coming on the show and sharing his story.

This week is all about guidelines and safeguards in keeping recovery groups free of any other spiritual or physical affiliation, real or implied. The boys discuss the necessity in having the recovery group’s focus on carrying the message with the least amount of outside influences from other organizations or agendas. How the recovery groups can cooperate with anyone but do not align themselves with any particular outside entity. 

We also have some light-hearted discussion about St Patrick's Day (Greg is in full garb) and if corned beef is overrated or underrated. We finish off the show with some housekeeping items and Corey humorously discusses some of his pet peeves at meetings.

Ladies and gentlemen welcome back to another episode of Trudge Report. We are reshaping the format a bit on weekly episodes. Going forward, we will be focusing primarily on recovery topics, with some other content briefly in the beginning and on the back end of the show. We have listened to the feedback from our listeners, and we want to focus on the subject we four know best, recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction. This will allow us more time to get in-depth on these topics. But don't worry, if you love our other topics full of nonsense, power rankings, and sports, we will be doing extra content surrounding these and putting them out on our watching platforms, YouTube and Facebook. Clips of these will also be posted to our social media sites.

This week we dive heavily into the subject of group autonomy and individualism. Are we treating new members to recovery the same or different? Do we discount what new members or old timers have to say just because it differs from our opinion and experience? Do we share with others the tools and resources we have to help them be successful? Does the group conscience speak clearest and loudest with individual group issues or is one singular person trying to run the show? Do our actions as a group effect neighboring groups or the recovery community as a whole?

What do belly shirts, knee high socks, high-stakes March Madness picks, and a near-death DUI crash have in common? One man: Danny P. On this week's episode we have a very special guest, Danny P, who is a long time listener and even longer time good friend of all four members of Trudge Report. Corey and Dan got sober together in the same halfway house almost 10 years ago and the rest of us became friends with Dan over the years. He comes to us from just outside of the Ohio State University campus. We delineate some of our history with him and the timeline of the friendships. There is no shortage of funny stories between Corey and Dan in their early days of sobriety and maybe even if you picture for all those who will watch this episode on YouTube or Facebook. In the first half of the show, we tell some stories and catch up a bit and spend a good chunk of time on some college basketball analysis. Dan is an avid UConn Huskie fan and overall fan of the sport. 

The second half of the show Dan tells his personal story of his journey through recovery. He is a father of two, business owner (see below), and an upstanding member of his community. He has a passion for the work that we do in recovery, and it easily shows in his talk. We love Dan and we are grateful for his listenership and more importantly friendship.

Hello listeners and welcome to another episode of Trudge Report. We have a little bit of a different style show this week as Bill was a last-minute scratch off the starting lineup. He is practicing load management. Shawn had a top secret prior commitment in a far away land and was not able to join until about halfway through. Greg steers the ship and Corey does his best to sabotage the whole thing, and of course has to talk about the shoutouts he gets as he struts around (deservingly) in his Eagles garb. The duo get into the USA v Canada hockey game and more importantly the fight that broke out as soon as the puck was dropped. They also touch on the horrendous NBA All-Star game and how that whole event needs a makeover. Shawn joins the show from his undisclosed location. Next there is a nod to President's Day and some completely erroneous historical references thrown out by Shawn. Greg and Shawn detail their romantic voyages at Valentine's Day with their significant others, both having vastly different experiences.

Greg brings a spiritual reading for the recovery topic that is all about inventory, watching out for anger, and what we do with these defects when they crop up. The three of us go around and share what the reading means to us and each of us use our personal experience to help expand the topic.

Listen and watch along with us this week on Trudge Report as we break down the super bowl victory by the Eagles and the Kendrick Lamar halftime show. All four of us are together and we give Corey and his Philadelphia Eagles their props for an absolute dominating performance over the Kansas City Chiefs in the 59th edition of the super bowl. Surprise voicemail recording from a long time listener in Philadelphia about the game. Bill holds true to his statement that he was boycotting watching the game and the halftime show. We have a lot of fun but also break down key elements of the game and give our passionate but very amateur analysis. 

The recovery segment this week is all about membership guidelines and suggestions for different recovery groups. The importance of identification with the substance or affliction being talked about as well as with other members of whichever Recovery group is chosen. How we shouldn't, but do sometimes, judge other people in our meetings, and how important it is to make the newcomer feel welcome and for them to feel like they belong.
