Inspired by the late Journey Bessai, the J2HM was founded as a means to educate the world about the possible complications involved with carrying the sickle cell trait (SCT), such as Renal Medullary Carcinoma (RMC). Prior to her RMC diagnosis, Journey was full of life, talent and dreams, but in only a 5-month period her dreams shattered as she began to realize the inevitable; life was slipping away. Before Journey's death, she spoke about spreading the word about the sickle cell trait to the masses. Because of the pain that she endured and also what heartache her family experienced, this movement was established. www.journeytohappinessmovement.org
