True Crime Finland

In the summer of 2012, a young man climbed on a roof, upset over a lost playful wrestling match, looking for a way to release his anger.

We are putting together a true crime event for the first time here in Finland. It will take place in Hanasaari, Helsinki, on the 15th of August this year, 2019. I would be so happy to see you there! Please go to: www.truecrimeevents.fi for more information.

I will also be going to the True Crime Podcast Festival in Chicago next summer, on July 13 as a registered podcaster. For more information and tickets, please visit www.tcpf2019.com

After years of living under fear and the constant threat of violence caused by a loved one, something snapped.

This episode details domestic violence and will not be suitable for all listeners. If you are in a similar situation, please reach out to your local crisis center.

Suggested reading for Finnish listeners: Erään tapon tarina by Katariina Vuori. It was my main source of information for this episode and is a very impactful read. The real names of Helvi and Ulla have been changed to protect their identity and privacy. The same names have been used as in the book.

The episode was brought to you by The Re-Solved Mysteries Podcast: find it wherever you get your favorite podcasts.
