The Psalms | Episode 2: Lament Is for a Season

The Psalms teach us how to live in communion with God and lift our lives to Him—even in sorrow. This week we enter the language of lament: the cries, questions, and groans of the soul. David, the giant-killer king, penned Psalm 13 asking, “How long, O Lord?” Psalm 88 ends in darkness. Psalm 22 begins with anguish yet points straight to the cross and resurrection.

Here’s the truth: even leaders struggle, even saints feel forgotten. But lament is not unbelief—it’s worship in the dark. It’s prophecy in the pain. And Jesus Himself sang the song of lament to show us the turnaround was already written.

The Psalms | Episode 1: Delighting in the Word

The Psalms are not just read, they’re lived. They are the Spirit-breathed songs that train us to pray, worship, lament, and rejoice until every part of life is lived in Him and lifted to Him. Psalm 1 shows us the secret: the righteous don’t obey out of duty but delight—love-driven obedience that plants us by the river and makes us fruitful in every season. Psalm 2 reminds us: refuge in Jesus is better than the best place you’ve ever been doing the best thing you’ve ever done.

Week 3: Championing Heaven’s Realities

This week we dive into Colossians 3:1-2 and the call to set our hearts on the realities of heaven. What does that look like? It means more than simply believing—it means championing the realities of God’s Kingdom here on earth.

In this message, we explore how heaven reveals unity where earth is divided. Revelation 7 paints the picture: people from every tribe, nation, and tongue gathered as one before the throne. Yet too often, the church reflects division instead of oneness. Jesus didn’t say He was building a black church, white church, Baptist church, or Pentecostal church—He said He was building His Church.

We’ll uncover what it means to find your true “own kind” not in skin color, culture, or class, but in those who have been made alive in Christ. Together, we’ll see why second-chance people live differently—marked by kindness, forgiveness, and joy even in hardship.

Join us as we learn to champion heaven’s realities—even when it’s uncomfortable, even when it’s unfamiliar, and even when it costs us everything.

Drawing from 2 Samuel 13, we look at King David’s grief over Amnon and ask: Are we mourning who someone was, who they became, or who we hoped they’d be? And in our own lives—how often do we dwell on what could’ve been instead of what is?

“Ghosts” are past versions of people, missed opportunities, and imagined futures that keep us from walking in the freedom and focus God has for us. They make it hard to fight the good fight. Hard to keep our hands on the plow. Hard to fix our eyes on Jesus.

But this is the call of renewal: to stop chasing what was never real and begin living fully in the present—where Jesus is knocking.
