Unchecked covetousness is the fuel for unchecked sin. We all need to check our hearts and repent of any covetousness.

Sinful humans are liars. God loves truth and hates deception. Our students need to be challenged and corrected by God’s simple law against bearing false witness against their brothers.

Admit that theft is a huge problem and commit to dealing honestly with the things that don’t belong to you.

The seventh commandment is intended to urge married men and women to be sexually faithful to each other for life. Our students are in a different phase of life, but they need to prepare for faithfulness by practicing purity of heart and life now before they get married.

Because God made mankind in his image, he forbids murder (the unjustified taking of a human life). We studied what the Bible calls murder and the killing that is not condemned as murder. And our students were warned about the hateful murder of the heart that we are all guilty of and need to forsake.

God commands his people to honor their father and their mother for life. This looks like humble obedience and deference during childhood, and ongoing support and care into adulthood. Praying for this sermon to help your children respect and obey you more from now on.
