True Stories Of Tinseltown

Dwayne was a very fun guest. His biography of Lee Marvin was widely acclaimed, and deservedly so. We yakked about Lee's troubled life, his alcoholism, and his career. Lee was such an interesting guy. Join me to learn all about him. Dwayne also gives me some great tidbits on his interviewees. LOVED his story's about James Doohan AKA " Beam Me Up' Scotty from Star Trek. They had a lot of drinkiepoos and James told him his feeling about William Shatner. Let's just say, he didnt like the guy.

Thanks so much to Dwayne for joining me. Most of all thanks to all that listen.  I appreciate it more then you know.

Can you believe the suave Cary Grant as a cockney ne'er do well?? Grace Kelly as a mousy, beaten down wife of an alcoholic actor, played by Bing Crosby?? I didnt.. We discuss a bunch of crossovers from drama to comedy, comedy to drama, and born again virgins. Join us.

Thanks so much to John, one of my fave guests.

Burt and I had a great time talking about Marlon. We talk his life, his loves, his very unconventional ways. We also talk about the movie The Wild One. It was a perfect movie for Marlon. It's also inspired and still inspiring many rebellious lads in pop culture, like  Elvis, the Beatles, and even Herman Munster...vroooom..vroooom..

Thanks Much to Burt. He is such a fun guest.

Mostly, thanks mucho to all that listen. You're the best!

I really like this show. I thought it's perfect for Spooky October Spooktacular. A Must after listening to this is watch the flick. It's fun to know all the behind the scenes info.

I speak to the fabulous Julian David Stone about his best selling book in film industry genre, It's Alive! It's a historical novel on the drama it took to finally get Frankenstein to the silver screen. Yes, it's a novel, but all people are real, and tons of great true info on all the peeps. The dialogue was added in to make it a great read. It's a lot of fun..Lots of good stuff on Bela and Boris. I also rediscovered via Julians book the word 'stout'. I had a lot of fun with Julian.

Thanks so much to Julian for being a guest on the show.

Mostly Thank You To You, The Listeners. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you!!

Grace

The multi talented Julian has written many books. Did two mini bio's on Frankie, wrote a fun short film.. Here's his website.

John and I talk about some movies we just don't think are happy endings. From mommas boys, wrong love interests and lots more.

I had lots of fun. Many of the movies we talk about you should be able to find on YouTube.

Of course there are spoilers, if you have seen these flicks I wonder if you agree..

Thanks so much to John. He's the best.

Joel was such a great guest. He has great stories about his dad, who was the only agent to receive an Emmy award, and Normans gallery of star clients, Natalie Wood, Kim Novak, and many more. Joel talks about his own interactions with so many old Hollywood greats. Joel truly was and is mega FAB!!  There is so much we didn't get to talk about so Joel will make a return visit.

John's latest book is a lot of fun. He chose some great performances that got no love from The Academy. We discuss some of my faves, including one of my autumn Halloween faves, Rosemary's Baby.  Why he thinks Mia should have gotten a nod for her Rosemary..As a PS. She got served divorce papers from Frank Sinatra while on the set..OUCH!

I had a great time as usual as we yakked away.

Thanks so much to John.

Lisa  and Paula join me to discuss their fab book Eleanor Powell:Born To Dance. Eleanor is widely thought to be one of the best (some people say the best) dancer in the grand old days of Classic Hollywood. Get to Know Eleanor through their eyes.
