You'd have fought it in your neighbor's yard. You went quiet when it walked through your own gate.

The oldest hatred on earth put on a suit, borrowed our language, quoted our Bible, and walked into the house like it belonged there. And a lot of us who would have named it anywhere else went silent the moment it started wearing our colors.

This one isn't comfortable. It isn't meant to be.

We say all of it out loud. What October the seventh actually was, in the killers' own footage. What the Holocaust actually was, and who's laughing at it right now. How this hatred just won City Hall in the city with more Jews than anywhere on earth but Israel. What Hamas is, in its own charter. And the lie about "genocide" that has swallowed the Western mind whole.

Then Paul, a Jew writing to Gentiles who were already getting arrogant, hands us the picture that ends the argument. You are the wild branch. You do not hold the root. The root holds you.

Here's the question the whole night turns on. When it showed up wearing your own team's colors, did you say something? Or did you go quiet because it was awkward?

The whole world calls this book "Numbers." God gave it a different name, and the difference changes everything.

You've done the math on yourself and decided you came up short. That you're past the point of coming back.

WHO ARE YOU WHEN NO ONE FINDS OUT?

God said be holy. Then He spent thirty-five verses on your payroll, your scales, and what you said about someone at lunch.

Not one line about religious feeling. Leviticus 19 is the center of the whole book, and it's addressed to everyone, not the priests. The farmer. The shopkeeper. The day laborer.

Its definition of holiness is almost entirely about how you treat the person who can do nothing for you, and the person who will never find out what you did.

You've been trying to be good by the things you avoid. And you're tired. There's a reason it isn't working, and it's hiding in a field, in a wage paid on time, and in a man left bleeding in a ditch while two religious professionals kept walking.

God walked into a house where one man held all the power. Then He named the people that man could not touch.

Israel stood and watched a living animal walk over the horizon carrying everything they'd just confessed out loud. And then it was gone. Not stored. Not filed. Gone, into a land cut off.

This is the center of Leviticus. The high priest strips off his glory and dresses like a servant. Two goats are chosen by lot. One dies, because atonement costs blood. One leaves, because guilt has to go somewhere.

You told them the worst thing about you first, before they could find it themselves. And you called it honesty.

There's a man in this stretch of the Bible who did the same thing out loud, on a road, so people would step back before they reached him. Some of us have been doing it for years without a mark anywhere on our body.
