Gugu Mofokeng is a domestic abuse survivor and is the founder and president of Recovery Village, an NGO which supports victims and survivors of domestic abuse and violence.

The Real Deal's AJ Blie spoke to Bomikazi Manciya, a social worker at Masimanyane Women's Support Centre in East London about different types of abuse and violence towards women. In the interview, Bomikazi shares her thoughts on The International Day of No Violence Against Women & 16 Days Of Activism Against The Abuse of Women and children. Manciya also explains the impact of violence against women and children, and where victims could get assistance.

The Real Deal's AJ Blie spoke to the CEO of Mineworkers Investment Company Mary Bomela. The MIC runs the JB Marks bursary which has provided 590 bursaries to children/ dependants of workers in the mine industry. The JB Marks bursary allows students to study a degree at a university of their choice without having to pay back the bursary. The MIC also equips small farmers with skill in Mpumalanga. The MIC also has an incubator that equips up and coming business persons with skills. Mary, who is also a chartered accountant, also has words of encouragement for young people.
