We all know her as the beautiful IsiXhosa news reader on SABC 1. She comes from the small town of Alice in the Eastern Cape. Ladies and gentlemen: we're talking about the one and only Ms. Lisakhanya Pepe.

Recent reports suggest that some employees receive a sick note booking them off work only for an employer to reject it. An Eastern Cape company seeks to address this and they recently launched a web based application "eDoctorsNOTE" which will validate sick notes from health practitioners to employers.

The Department of Labour recently published a law that seeks to protect part-time and fixed term employees.

To find out more about this law truAfternoon asked listeners to share their stories of ill-treatment at work and also soke to Mr. Livingstone Matiwane, the Provincial Chief Inspector at the Eastern Cape Department of Labour, who helped us understand the specifics of this law.

The Department of Trade and Industry is currently reviewing a bill aimed at stopping retailers from serving alcohol to already intoxicated customers. The bill further states that bar owners will be held responsible if a drunk customer they served gets into a car accident.

Most young people, take loans/credit for their parents when they start working. Some take these loans/credit for friends, relatives, girlfriends or wives.

Many, amongst the Xhosa tribe prefer to get circumcised the religious way. We spoke to Pastor Mapuma from Assemblies of God in Mdantsane so he can explain to us this concept.
