President Donald Trump is asserting that the Department of Justice owes him a staggering $230 million, claiming compensation for investigations conducted during and after his first term.
Trump has filed two administrative claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act. The first, submitted in late 2023, seeks damages related to the FBI and special counsel investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.
