Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. Late night comedian Trevor Noah took a poke at Christians the other night, accusing us of being hypocrites for owning guns for our own protection. He seems to think that trusting God and owning guns are mutually exclusive. He said this, “And you know it is funny how these same people say Jesus will protect them, are the same people stocking up on guns.” But one of the ways God protects us is by giving us what we need to protect ourselves.The Second Amendment enshrines our inalienable, God-given right to use a weapon in defense of our families. Jesus himself told his own disciples to armor up since there are bad people out there: “Let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.” That’s Luke 22:36. The biblical way for a Jesus follower to protect his family is with God and a Glock.
