Today the world is rising with several ideas and systems to challenge, pressure and subtly take our heart and attention off God. We need to understand these evolving systems and what to do to combat them. Let us go in the journey in the next few episodes. We must be intentional as believers else the evolving world may pressure us out of God's purpose for us.

Admirers, they can do a lot for Christ in the secret but they never want to identify with Jesus in the public because of the fear of losing their reputation, friends and associations. Identifying with Christ is not just about putting stickers on our cars, wearing a cross sign etc, is far more than that but rather it means, standing for what Christ stand for, living for what Christ lived for and rejecting what Christ rejected daily and everywhere without fear or favour. The Admirers want the gift but not the giver, they want the product but not the process. Like Simon the Sorcerer, they want to use money to purchase the gift of God. Several times like Simon they follow Christ physically but their heart is only after anointing and power but they are not ready to deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Christ. An admirer of Jesus looks like a disciple but is not a disciple. Such is ready to give anything to Christ except his complete heart. Admirers can do anything for Christ but never ready to live or imitate the life of Christ. Admirers honour Christ with their mouth but never ready to yield their heart to Christ. Today what are you doing with your cross, Jesus carried his own cross to the end of his life here on earth and so we should? The cross are not the bad events that happens to us, rather they are the humiliation, persecution and loss we take up to follow Christ and to take up the Cross we must drop our own will for His. Jesus said come unto me and I will give you rest, take my yoke upon you and learn of me and ye shall find rest for your soul. Today we may need to check if the yoke is still there, that which yoked us with Jesus. Remember it is not Jesus that will put the yoke on you, you have to put it yourself just the same way it is you that must carry your cross and follow Him.
