An interview with physician & nutrition expert Dr John McDougall.
In this interview Dr John McDougall shares his understanding of the human diet, an understanding backed by over 50 years of study into the scientific, medical, & even archaeological literature, as well as over 40 years of successfully preventing, treating & reversing patient’s illnesses through nutrition.
Dr McDougall also stresses the urgent importance of our food choices for the health of the planet, highlighting the impact that modern agriculture has on our ecosystem & climate. For many years Dr McDougall lived & worked in Santa Rosa, California, an area which was devastated by fire in 2017. The McDougall’s survived but lost their home & all their possessions, as did the entire community. When Dr McDougall talks about climate change it is from raw personal experience, the savage impact of the fire clearly audible in his voice & fuelling the urgency of his message, “The world is worth saving, it really is”, “if we get the food right we might have a chance… that’s how important I think the food is”. For many years Dr McDougall used the catchphrase “It’s the food” with reference to the health of individual patients. Now that same message can be applied to our impact on planet Earth.
