Those collaborations include Eric Burdon, George Harrison, Sly Stone, Billy Preston, Bill Withers, Gil-Scott Heron, Elton John, Natalie Cole and America. 

As a teen, he was a member of Little Richard’s band and shared the stage with legends like Jimi Hendrix and Elvis Presley. He later also worked with Rick James, Stargard and Leo Sayer.
