"I have found it an amusing strategy, when asked whether I am an atheist, to point out that the questioner is also an atheist when considering Zeus, Apollo, Amon. Ra, Mithras, Baal, Thor, Wotan, the Golden Calf, and the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I just go one god further." -- Richard Dawkins

With due respect to the author, I think this chapter fell short of what the atheist challenge really is. She effectively set up a straw man and attack it vs the real argument. That said, I think this chapter was still useful in the claims it did make.

"I am an atheist because there is no evidence for the existence of God. That should be all that needs to be said about it: no evidence, no believe. - Dan Barker
How would you respond? What questions would you ask to clarify what Mr. Barker means by "God" or by "evidence" or by. "no evidence"?

An atheist claims, "Personally, I do not claim that the universe 'came from' anything at all and it did not 'appear' The universe just is....it needs no creation story"
How would you respond to this person? What questions might you ask to understand why they believe that?
